Hello all & appaloosa showing questions!

Hello all, I am not exactly a newbie here but my previous account's email address got hacked so had to delete it and create a new account!

I have a question for any appaloosa lovers out there - what do you wear with your spotties to show in hand?

I have an 18 month old partbred black snowcap appaloosa with 4 white socks I am really wanting to take to some local shows to 'see the sights' - only problem is I really am struggling to find the right outfit to suit both him and me.

Would you go for the brown bridle which would be more 'correct' or black which might suit his colour better? And plain or coloured browband? Dark or light trousers? Tweed or plain jacket? The list is endless!

If anyone has any piccies of them showing that would be most useful and appreciated!

On the subject of bridles...I think brown is always more correct and as for browbands, thickness / thinness of leather, it really depends on the type of horse. Why not post some pictures of your boy and see what people think?

Although brown is correct I would go with black and defo plain browband. If you wanted something a it different you could put a plaited leather browband on.

Trousers I dont think will make much difference but shirt tie and tweed. I would be inclined to go with a green tweed and beagler

We had several "outfits" usually change trouser, shirt and tie colour. As long as you dont wear white trousers I think you will be fine with any colour. We have green moleskin trousers or cream cords. A tweed jacket is correct not navy or black.

Tweed jacket yes. Navy hat. I was always told if your horse has a lot of white legs (when showing in hand) you wear dark trousers and if dark legs (as mine has) pale/beige trousers. That way the judges can focus on the horses movement rather then yours. Correct me if I am wrong please folks.
