Hello everyone. This is my first thread so please be nice! I'm at uni so i come back most weekends to ride my horse (my mum keeps him ticking over in the week) and I've just noticed that he seems to be pulling his head to the right. It got more exaggerated the faster we went, to the point in canter where his head was almost perpendicular to the rest of his body. He is normally fairly well balanced, although slightly unfit due to being in less work. Has anyone any idea what might be causing this? All help will be greatly appreciated x

I would agree with the above, full mot for neddy, but also get yourself checked out... you would not believe what the smallest glitch in the rider can do to the horse! I had a fall some years back and luckily I had a back protector on although i still damaged my back... I had a deep treatment massage whilst on holiday, the change to my balance was amazing and the follow through to how ben rode in the school... very significant! I try to regularly get a sports massage but have recently let it slide... not going to do that again :D

Am glad I looked at this post as I had an injury caused by my horse a couple of weeks ago am still tender and a little stilted, so will go and see about a massage,as there is still no bruising coming up. I thought he'd cracked one of my ribs, but now think it's damage to a mucsle.:(:(:(:(

Thank you so much for your replies! I rode again today and things seemed much better, he was working really well so I think we will see how we go. Maybe we were both having a funny ride yesterday! Really appreciate your help, if it happens again I will use some of your advice, I had never even thought to get myself checked out. Thanks! x
