Hello!
Relatively new on here and thought id say hi :D Im wondering if there are any Aberdeenshire people on here I could say hi to as im hopefully going to start competing on my neddy Prince soon and im absolutely bricking it...to say the least!! Hoping il maybe even get chance to meet some of you at local events would be nice to see a friendly face and not hang around myself all day (no-one else at my small private yard competes!)
Hopefully be joining Ythan RC next month and looking to do some winter dressage at Fountain, Walkmill etc...once I get the transport sorted :( so if your in the area...HI! x

Hey, I used to be in the area but moved to East Lothian a few years ago. I am however still in contact with people who do shows there and occassionally when up visiting the parents tag along :D

Hey! I'm Jo. I keep my horse Cooper just down the road from Ladyleys. Used to keep him at Waulkmill but it was too expensive. I've only had him since July so will be out and about next year hopefully.

What do you do with Prince?

Hi All, thanks for popping in to say hello!

Hi Jo - i'm Victoria, not stabled too far away from you were just outside Newmachar! Looking to do some winter league dressage with Prince and hopefully some SJ training nights, then next summer perhaps some working hunter. Ive not had him long he's out on loan to me so just building things up at the moment!

What about yourself what you hoping to do with Cooper? x

Hello!
There's loads of Aberdeenshire people on here, but for some reason, they don't seem to have discovered this thread yet! I'm in Aberdeen itself.

Cool. Your not far from Fountain and Cabin then. I was at the unaffiliated SJing at Cabin yesterday helping a friend. She organises SJ training with Aileen Craig once a month at Fountain and Waulkmill.

I hope to show Cooper. I think that will be his thing but I like dressage too so will hopefully do some unaffiliated. I am saddleless at the mo so just lunging and loose schooling. Cant wait till I get his new saddle.

Hi :D
Spookypony - whereabouts in Aberdeen are you? Do you get out and about to training or comps etc?

Jo - Cooper looks lovely, hope you get your saddle sorted soon, are you waiting for a saddle fitter? Also if you know of anyone wanting a hand a local shows etc setting up, all that kinda thing let me know as id like to get back into the scene learn some new things and meet some new people before Princey and I go out and about!!

Karen Ellis has been to take measurements for a Black Country saddle but they havent started manufacturing it yet. I'm hoping they will hurry up.

I dont know many people yet myself. I moved back here in June after spending 6yrs in England. Never owned a horse up here till now. I used to have lessons at Hayfield before I moved away.

I do know that Waulkmill may need help running their shows. If your interested in that, I think they have a website if you google to contact them.

Haha spookyponymobile love it!! Im trying to get my transport sorted at the mo would love a little lorry but hubby to be doesnt want our wedding fund to become horse fund  going down the trailer and 4x4 route I think.

Sounds like we maybe doing similar things so maybe get to cross paths at some point!

Hi im Aberdeenshire too between Huntly and Inverurie. I hope to do Pleasure rides with one of mine next year and hopefully find a sharer for my other one.

Hi gleek, I went to school in huntly and lived nr insch when I was younger! Pleasure rides sound ace would love to get out and about and explore some new areas and nothing better than on horseback!

What type of level / experience are you looking for a sharer as I may know someone out your way!

I stay near Insch! My mare im looking for someone for is a 16hh ID. She is just a happy hacker really. I want her to stay where she is. I'd like a capable rider that will look after her, i have had her for 11years, although she is great for confidence.

Hi Im over by Aboyne/Ballater and have an ID/TB gelding (semi retired) and a 7yo Haflinger mare who I do a bit of endurance on, also poss going to use her on our small farm pulling implements (but havent told her yet :-) went to a course on saturday).

We're a friendly lot, honest and there are lots of us around.

Last winter we had 3 months of snow at our place and -21 degrees so riding seems to be a 3 season activity for mine. They are kept at home so no livery yard company for us!

Grampian endurance website for you if you are intrested in doing any of the pleasure rides.

lachlanandmarcus am i right i thinking with your haflinger you do endurance baefoot? Has she ever had shoes on (if im right)? How does she get on with the terrain? If i am wrong sorry for making up stories!!! haha

Gleek - il contact my friend and see if she is still looking!

Lachlanandmarcus- yes winter was terrible last year dreading it this yr can feel it coming in already and I think this week will be the last week il be able to ride after work with the fading light:( haha I like the way you haven't told your mare! I'm in the same situation love my little yard with just a few close friends but don't have competition company, I'm not going to be doing anything high level just all for fun!!
