Hi.
New here! I have learned so much reading through all the posts on here, so thought I may as well sign up! I look after a number of horses for my boss, who can't ride much due to her own work commitments. I rode since a small child and was an avid pony-clubber & hunter. I had a break when I was about 16 after my horse had a nasty field accident, breaking her leg, and hadn't rode for over 6 years. Now I'm 23 and have my own daughter (4) who has her first pony (Bonny- little welshie with Cushing's.) I have taken over the riding of one of my bosses horses, (Phoebe) a 17 year old tbxwelsh, who has had a long break to have a foal. She used to be a dressage star in her day, but I'm hoping to do some low level competing, open xc days and hunter trials with her. I started bringing her back into work about a year ago and concentrated on hacking and schooling. She's a bit of a livewire to say the least!! I'm still learning every day and have booked in for my first proper riding lesson on Phoebe on Friday with a lovley eventer near me! Wish me luck!! xxx ;):)

Good luck with the lesson! Let us know how you got on please: hopefully better than expected - you sound as though you might be slightly nervous (I would be) ;)

It all sounds wonderful - what a great opportunity, and how wonderful that your daughter is already involved with ponies.
Northumberland is a lovely part of the country - welcome to the forum.

Hello! Back from my lesson today and it was amazing!! Phoebe was almost perfect. She's a very stressy horse and gets wound up very easily. Lots of distractions for her so it took a while to settle her. Once she did everything went really well! We even did some half-pass and collected walk! Far more technical than anything I have done before. :-D My instructor was great and thought she was a great little horse. I have booked in another lesson for Wednesday lunch time. Very pleased!! :)

She's a little 11.2 grey. My friend is loaning her for my daughter to learn to ride. She's such a sweet little pony. My daughter loves her and has even started to trot, canter and pop over some small sheep troughs! :)
