Hi All,

I’m new to the forum and thought I would say hello. I’ve just started riding again at the grand age of 40 after riding a little bit as a teen.

I’ve been reading lots of the threads and am finding them very useful.

I’m hopeful to find myself a share once my standard has improved but I’m currently having lessons at a local Riding School.

Is there any advice you would give to an adult novice?

Hi, I’m in Suffolk too.. I found having lessons on a mechanical horse really helped with my position as I could concentrate on me rather than the horse. Also try and ride as often as you can to build ability and confidence

Hi from another re-starter! I found that so much has changed since I first learned that it was pretty much like starting again! Having an instructor who could unpick the how and why has been really useful - as a teen I rode more on direction but as an adult I am more interested in how what I do influences the horse's movement. The mechanical horse sessions have been brilliant as a means of really focusing on my balance.
