Hi, I'm a German who has been living in the U.S. for about a decade now, since I was 21. We're moving to Scotland in the next year. I'll be there for 2 months this winter helping my brothers settle and checking out different livery yards in person. We're looking at the Stirling area, but I will honestly try to go to where I can have easy access to off-road hacking, lol.

I have 2 Tennessee Walking Horses, Loki and Calypso, who I'm shipping with me. I'm a happy hacker/recreational endurance rider and hoping to get some tips on livery yards and riding areas as my move gets closer. I've browsed through old threads on here and have found quite a few yards to put on my list. I'm so excited that we're finally moving :)

I am south of Edinburgh toward the Borders so can't really help you regarding what the local hacking is like etc and suggestions for yards but as you have found out, there are usually other threads about such things.

There are a lot of lovely horsey areas round Scotland which are worth investigating if you are not tidied to a fixed area for work reasons.

Welcome to the forum!
I'm not in Scotland, but there are plenty on this forum who are based there and might be able to help. Posting in the Tack room or on the regional forum will be a good start. Wishing you well with the move :)

Hi. I live in Scotland. I can't help with livery yards as I'm based in Edinburgh but i love endurance riding and Scotland has some fabulous routes. The Scottish Endurance Riding Club is very friendly and runs lots of pleasure rides as well as competitive ones. Good luck with the move!
