Hello, thought I'd better introduce myself, I've just joined the forum although I've read it a few times and spotted some great advice.

I don't have my own horse yet (although one has been on my xmas list since I was onld enough to write one!!) but I'm seriously planning for it at the moment, it is just such a big step with so many unknowns.

Hopefully I'll pick up some good advice and support here.

Hello Katt, I was like you for 30 years I was writing 'horse' at the top of every christmas and birthday list and then in May I actually got my first horse and it really is a dream come true!

Hi thanks for welcoming me.

I'm not sure how soon we'll be in a position to actually buy, I'd do it straight away but OH is a bit more cautious and for financial and practical reasons we'll be sharing.

We need to get all the practicalities sorted in our heads and be sure we can manage financially before we make the comitment but we are both just so fed up with riding in a riding school especially when we both enjoy competing.

I'm sure I'll get plenty of tips and encouragement here though!!

Hi and welcome hope you enjoy the forum.

Hope you and your OH find your ideal horse - my OH and I have one each, but that is because he wants something to plod about on occasionally and I want to do a little more. That said, I love riding Cairo as much as I do Chancer.

Hugely expensive, but the horses are our only real "vice" and better than expensive cars, holidays, clothes etc.
