Hello, I'm Peta-Jane ... and I am puzzled by a strange little lump under my horse's fetlock!

I have just joined the forum because one of my horses has a very strange little lump/bump just underneath her left fetlock, right in in the middle of the soft dip above the heel bulbs, and I thought maybe someone might have had something similar with one of their horses. I first noticed it last summer when it caused her lower leg to fill, but she has never been lame. And over the following months, her leg filled when stabled and the lump felt as if someone had put a bit of memory foam under the skin. Once turned out or exercised, her leg and the lump would return to normal. It has been fully investigated by my vet, who scanned her legs using ultra-sound. Nothing untoward was found, thankfully. And recently, after I started to scrub the area with Hibi-scrub her leg has not filled overnight and the lump is definitely getting smaller. Very interesting and I just wondered if anyone else has encountered anything like this before? Thank you. Peta-Jane

Thank you Well-known member, but bit of a strange place for a windgall? Right at the back of the pastern in the dip above the heel bulbs? I am slowly winning using Ice-blue gell at night ... thank you anyway!
