Well long time to speak and a lot has been going on in the world of millbrooksong!!
Well dunno if this classes as comp news but i had the most amazing time in Uganda - what a stunning place
So on to berrington hall (2 days after getting home!) what a good boy he was! Have to say i was a complete passenger the whole day! Started off with a 37.somthing dressage (not bad for me having a hack and a jump on him!) then on to the sj where i think we only had one down (second last) so over the moon (was a complete wet lemon when i jumped him at home and was dreading it!!) then the XC! Ran a different way to the previous years so that was nice - also as the ground was hard they reduced the speed for the novice to PN time - opps i still got 18.8 time!! I was told to go SLOW!!! Lol
Then the big F - FRANCE!!
What a trip of a life time, with only a couple of disasters!! One being me running out of fuel the night we left - opps!!
Song traveled v. well and like a pro who had done it many times before!!
We got there on the tuesday and as i didnt have dressage until the fri we had a few days schooling and a little jump!
So dressage day - he warmed up v. nicely so went in feeling very posh in my top hat and ill fitting tails - little plea does anyone have a size 12 tail coat in black they no longer use?? and produced what i thought was an ok test - we got a mark of 51.8 which i am told is pretty good (does anyone no the multiplying factor used at internationals??) then we had until the after noon until the SJ and again he warmed up nicley and only had one down!! The french really like there turns we had 3 jumps on a S shape then had a U turn to the next!!
Then XC - had walked it twice once with spencer and once with ian and flet very professional when we did the whole wheel the course thing!! There were a few fences i was worried about - the 4th a jump in to water the out over a skinny corner then fence 6 was a double of very skinny skinnies in a turn the "pinheads" and a fence near the end consisting of a rail drop rail!!
I really should learn with song not to be to worried about Xc as he flew them all like a pro even if i was a complete nervous wreck!!
So there we have it i finished my 1st international on a score of 67.4
And now to bore you with some pics!!
And there are some more here - Pics (and lots of them!!)
Well that lot should have taken you a bit of time so well done!!
Oh ye forgot about the ... to be cont.... bit as we are off to germany to do a CCIJY* in 2 weeks if everything goes to plan!!
