I lost my 18 year old colored cob mare a year ago, she unfortunately died from colic. It was a massive shock, she'd never suffered any ailments before including colic. I'd had her from a yearling. A few months after she died another colored mare found her way to me, even though I wasn't looking. It was just meant to be. She's 7 years old but at 5 1/2 just had a saddle put on her a couple of times then was pretty much left until she came to me and 6 1/2 years old. She wasn't properly mouthed or schooled so at first it was more like having a 3-4 year old. Very green, couldn't even lead in a straight line. However she's growing in confidence all the time and constantly improving. I'm doing everything I can to make sure I bring her on correctly. That brings me to joining here, I find this forum extremely helpful all the time and decided it was about time I joined.

Hi there Lydia. Welcome from the last new member! Sorry to hear of the loss of your cob. We too lost our old TB to sudden colic a couple of years ago and it still hurts like mad. Good luck with your mare.
