crazy.gif
i am in my last year of school and i am currently bringing on me 6yo chestnut ex racer. we had our routine check up with the physio today, only to discover that the poor boy has been in absolute AGONY! sore everywhere, yet he's never shown anysigns of soreness, he's a tough lil' nut! Is anyone elses horse like him and hides the pain that they're in just to please you..?

Hello! nice to meet you...

my lad will never admit to being sore lest you don't take him hunting!

he once over-reached out hunting, taking his front shoe off, and half of his heel too. he hacked home (no trailer at that point) not in the slightest bit sore and then was so cross to discover the next morning that I wouldn't turn him out!

he had ten days box rest and was never lame!

Hello newbie, im also a newbie too, aww sorry to hear about your lil man, hope he feels beta soon.

I once had a connemara x on loan who had a very sore back, think it was down to the poorly fitted saddle that the owner insisted fitted him perfectly, ne way over time i noticed that he definately didn't feel right, his tail even started to hang to one side, bless him. His owner still continued to school him unconvinced that there was any problem.

I started to refuse to ride him & eventually managed to persuade his owner to get the chiro out to check him, Yes he could walk & trot, which he did like a true trooper, as that was the type of horse he was, just got on with it & did his job.

Soo glad i did, the chiro was shocked, his back muscles had gone into spasim, he was soo tense, she was surprised he could even walk, let alone trot etc! I felt so quilty afterwards, felt i should of done more, but what else more can you do especially when he was not my horse. Just wished he could of talked, perhaps put his owner in her place for once
