Hi,

I am new to this forrum and thought I would introduce myself..

I have a 14.2 Welsh D 10 year old gelding called Sam (although likes to think he's still a stallion - he was a breeding stallion up until aged 7). I am also helping to bring on a rising 3 Welsh D filly - and my younger sister sister shares a 15.2 ISH.

I have my own livery yard - which I love running! I'm a very laid back horse owner... and laid back yard owner too!

Have attached some photos for you to look at should you wish!

Hopefully you'll be able to help me at some point in the not to distant future as I post questions!!

Thank you :)

No last photo isnt pretty - but we're trying to get him working lower rather than head in the air, he goes low then round then like an idiot!!!! Once his muscles adjust and he realises he can work like that we'll sort him out! ... this is what he was like before:

Oh... and he isnt doing this because of force (I know its hard to tell in photo) but he is actually trying to chew his market harborough... i know my reins are short - but i have this much contact even when his nose is out - there really is plenty of give....

Hello and welcome. Sam looks lovely :) I love welshies :D

My New forest thinks he's a stallion (He also wasn't gelded till he was 7 and then they forgot to tell him ;) :p :D ) He has the typical stallion "make me" attitude and He's so bad he will still mount mares if he's in the same field  . I feed him a suplement called Rig calm. It's very good and has helped him settle down loads. I couldn't recomend it more, if you are having trouble with your boy. :)
I look forward to getting updates on how you and your boy are getting on. :)
