Hi Shady, I remember Amir El Shaklan, very lovely stallion :) So what is your Arabians registered name? Id guess he shares a few bloodlines with mine too!
Yes I saw a few of Faracats posts too. I am stuck with the photo bit for now… I don't seem to have permission to add a photo to my profile and although I attempted to upload a lot of pics to an album only one was visible but I can't seem to do anything with it. I will figure it out later Im sure.

Shadows real name is Fairview Amir El Rafique, his dam was Rianda's Ryeema ,strain is a Hadban Enzahi.
he is the gentlest horse i have ever known and truly wonderful to ride( as you can tell i really love him!!)
his old family bought him as a yearling and lived in Australia, they moved to France when he was 8 and made the sad decision to sell him when he was 10, by chance i saw him advertised and fell in love at first sight, i have remained really good friends with the family who strangely have now moved back to Australia near Perth.
i am hopeless with all the photo stuff on here, hopefully you will suss it out!!

Hello fellow arab fan! :D :D :D Welcome to the forum.

Your photos are working! What lovely horses you have. :) Another way to do photos is to upload to photobucket (or similar) and then post the IMG code in the forum reply box.

My gelding (the flaxen chestnut - Taj Amir) is related to Shady's horse Shadow via El Shaklan. We got a bit excited when we realised. :p It would be great if you also had a relative or two, or more! :D Another member on here has a palomino PBA that is a paternal half sister of my chestnut mare.

Just looked him up, according to the Arabian Horse Society of Australia he is still owned by Scarlet, It doesn't say he's been exported either, lol, and yes I see her address is not far from me (about a half hours drive away!) Shadow shares a few common ancestors as my horses too, as I suspected ;) Fairview is a BIG name in Australia too.
I did manage to upload 6 photos to my album but then I couldn't do anymore as my internet is playing up!

Hi Faracat,
Thank you :) and yes I have a lot of older photos on Photobucket I will have to try and find my login details, its been a few years!
I also have El Shaklan in some of mine, albeit a little further back. Mine have a high percentage of Crabbet (so Im sure there would be a few common relatives there) but also some lines going to Bey Shah in the USA, My youngest one has a bit of Spanish Blood too :) there a few UK lines that Im unsure about- Harwood Asif (by Zeus11 out of Fafika) is one.

My grey has a lot of crabbet blood, she's GKJ Hanoonah if you want to look her up on allbreed. :)

I had a quick look at Harwood Asif and one of his grand sires is Silver Vanity, who was imported to the US. I know that I've read something about him as the name immediately struck me as one that I knew. I do have a couple of old Arabian Magazines with articles about WE Kellogg (yes the cereal chap) who had arabians in the US and also important Crabbet horses in the US, so hopefully i can find the magazines and let you know more.

just looked at your horses! they are lovely:):), I i especially like the black! i thought you might share some blood with mine!!!
yes Scarlet was his teenage owner, she did such a lovely job of training him and as a family they tried to make him as bombproof as possible which they certainly did! you will have an old address for him i think, parents are now somewhere called Yanchep for a couple of years, who knows you may even bump into them!!:D

OMG, Yanchep is even closer to me! just down the road and the nearest place for me to go shopping! How funny!
The 'black" is really a bay brown (but is wet in that photo) he is Cuillin Balachan, I bred him a few years ago. His Dam is the chestnut mare with the blaze looking out of her stable.
Faracat, yes I know about Mr Kellogg :D and yes Silver Vanity too. :) :)

hello Pinkvboots and Peregrine Falcon :) when we lived on Skye, my mum bred a few ponies. mine was called Puck ;) his Mum was a New Forrest I can't remember who his Dad was though, thinking maybe a Dartmoor? we also had a Dales Mare (she was lovely but could be a real bitch! :) my earliest riding memory is of me being around 3/4 yrs old and her bolting across the paddock with me, I jumped off and remember feeling immensely proud of my self for making that safe decision, lol) also a Dales x Arab called Redwing his sire was an Arab named "Touwayson the Siid" (I have no idea how to spell his name and have tried looking him up so many times but no luck)

Hope nobody minds me jumping in on this conversation! But I'm a fellow Arab-lover and have just bought my second (I had a gelding years ago but had to sell. It was awful). So anyway, if anyone wants to talk Arabs I'm here!

Hello Faracat!
Well he's grey, 7 y/o, 14.2, Egyptian Arab. I'm looking forward to long hacks and possibly some pleasure rides.
It's nice to be able to talk to other Arab owners!

I'd love an Egyptian arab, I've seen a few and they all had really good legs (and sweet temperaments), which I wouldn't have expected as they tend to have quite dished heads. I think that if I ever buy another horse, that will be what I will hope to get. Lucky you. :D

He does have a sweet temperament! He has good legs and a lovely strides. His head isn't too dished, but it is very dainty. I know its not to everyone's taste!
Aw I do feel lucky, he's a lovely boy.
Do you have an Arab?

I have a mostly crabbet mare, a gelding who is a real mix of bloodlines and a 50% part bred mare. Yes, I'm a sucker for punishment!

My part bred mare (anglo-arab) is shown twice and the chestnut gelding does have a tail, he was swishing it. ;)

I feel bad that we've highjacked this thread!

Yes, sorry CA for taking your thread off on a tangent.

The gelding is unbacked at the moment, but the plan is to back him this year. :)
