my ponies tack is impossible to clean because it has never been properly cleaned. i try to clean it but it allways looks grey/brown after an hour of scrubbing it. what would youreccomend for me to do?

Minimal water, no water if using a spray.
Buy a special sponge, keep rinsing out and squeeze dry.
clean after every use, be patient.
If grease is thick on FLESH side you can scrape it off with a knife.
Dismantle everything and use a bucket for stirrups and bit.
Use oil lightly.
Carr & Day are good, use cleaner daily, conditioner as required.

Here is another way ..... no water!
Use matchsticks to clean holes.
Stirrups are left and right handed.
I use wadding metal cleaner.
As you have already stripped the saddle of oil you will need to really coat with oil and leave it overnight.

Do you have a pic? It does sound like too much water has been used on it maybe

I think it's a build up of saddle soap on the saddle and I'm wondering how I can get it off without damaging the saddle.
