Hello, I am in need of some advice on my horsebox (C1) test. We have just got a horsebox but I'm struggling to find out if I can drive it on a provisional licence (already have my regular car licence) From the quotes for lessons I've got so far I'm looking at £1000. If anyone has any more insight to the test and what it entails I would be very grateful for any advice.

ROG is your man for this.

Yes, you can drive on a provisional licence with L plates, but you must be accompanied by someone with a C1 or C licence for a minimum of 3 years - if a C1 licence holder, they must have passed a test and not just grandfather rights on their car licence.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with a C1 training and test - go straight for a C.
