Those of you that have/own helmet cams- how do you find them? Iv seen some which are terribly grainy!

Which is the better brands and whats the rough cost of these?

Or if anyone has a video they can post on this thread giving an example of how well it works, that would be helpful:D

Go Pro HD is the best , my OH has one for his motorbike and I had a shot on my horse with it. Footage is very clear but they not cheap around £250 + mark

I'm considering getting one though not the Go Pro as can't afford it but when I find one that looks quite good i then have a look on Amazon as people can put reviews up. It's put me off a couple that look good on paper but maybe not so in reality.

I didn't see the point in spending hundreds on something I wouldn't use much. I bought a mini MD80 from eBay (new) for less than £15. Much smaller, lighter and less obtrusive than the more expensive ones too

Sound quality not good, but it was seriously windy!

I like Rhinos bargain of the year cam :) Unusual for me not to see that as I am usually good at bargain spotting.

This is mine from yesterday. It has two quality settings I use it on the lower setting which is what this vid is taken with. Youtube compresses vids and the quality isn't as good as the original file. The HD setting makes huge huge files hence I rarely use it. For me it's a bit of fun plus I didn't want to have an expensive peice of equipment on my helmet when I have one of those "unscheduled dismount" moments.
Mine cost around £45 and has rechargeable batteries, 1 charge lasts approx 2 hrs of recording.
What I don't like is I can't see the light flashing to say it's recording when wearing it and it's the same button to start recording as stop recording.
The wind noise, especially when cantering is very annoying so I usually remove the sound before uploading to youtube. When no wind it's ok.

Thanks for all your help guys!

After spending hours trawling the tinternet I found myself keep coming back to the 'GoPro' range - expensive but it will be a bday present to myself as iv been after a half decent one for a while.

Plus I have a good excuse as the OH has booked me a private one on one beach gallop in Cornwall for my bday - Very excited!
