Just saw a item on bbc breakfast about cycle helmet cameras, wonder if they have a place for riders on the roads. They have been used in evidence for accidents caused by dangerous driving. Maybe if horse riders used them drivers would think more when meeting horses. Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't get much hassle where I live, but I might look into them for recreational purposes. Henry is getting on in years and it would be nice to have the memories. :)

I was thinking the exact same thing.....luckily, I don't have much road hassle- drivers on the whole are really good where I live but I do think there is a place for them.
It would be good to be able to pass hard evidence onto the police-rather than possibly being thought of as a moaning toff .....

Used one two or three years ago when we did a horse back safari, had it fixed to my riding hat.
Issues were the "bounce" of the horse causing the camara to go up and down, difficult to strap it onto the hat to sto it moving, and also lineing it up correctly so it was level; i ended up filming a lot of sky, but did get some ok footage.

Most annoying thing though was the close ups of the rhinos i though i had got which were only a few yards from us but the camara had stopped filing due to disk space. so it didn't get them after all!

Could be a good idea for hacking out on roads though.

I think it would be good in areas where the are problems ie boy racers etc. Dont know much about the cameras and how the problem with bounce etc would work.
