I have recently purchased a horse, which I have found out it is lou, only saw this when he was clipped, bought the horse from a private seller, contacted previous owner who had, the horse for approx. 3 yrs, they said it was news to them, it must of been the previous to them. is there anything I can do, I do feel very foolish. thankyou

can you ring round the major insurance companies to see if any of them have records of him ? regardless of whether it happened with them the lou mark will have been obvious so I would be pushing to send him back/refund it.

Previous owner is not being very forth coming, I have asked for a partial refund, which has been denied, won't have the horse back, cannot insure. I am considering small claims, but I am unsure if I would have a strong case.

I think it will depend why it's LOU if say it has a bad heart I think they have a great chance of returning the poor horse .
OP you need specialist advice ASAP good luck.
