Hi - i know this should probably be in veterinary but I thought there might be more people in here...
My poor pony had the vet out this week and is suspected to have either ligament or tendon damage in her hind leg. She's got a scan on monday to find out more and until then we are cooling the leg regularly for 20 minutes a time. I bought an Aerborn Cool Care gaiter, but it doesn't seem to get very cool? It feels cold when you take it out the freezer, but doesn't seem to stay cool to the touch at all - her leg still feels warm after it has been applied - I'm wondering if it just has a mysterious way of working or maybe a shelf life (there was only one in the shop and the packaging looked pretty elderly). In the meantime i'm using other methods to cool her leg - but I just wondered if I'm being daft - any ideas?
