Hi
Lots of HELPs this evening!
Moved my nag to a new yard 3 weeks ago. She is rising 6 but going on 4.
She has settled in pretty well - she loves her new box (spent week in isolation), loves her new field mate, eating like.. a horse and generally fine.
But she has become really nappy, riding her lots of neighing and standing up and spinning round, refusing to go where i want her to etc
Today she lost the plot, decided she is in lust with another mare, wont stop neighing for her, wouldnt do anything when i tried to ride her (napping, broncing, rearing all the time neighing for her new 'lover')
Barged me about trying to lead her, tried to bolt off, eventually got her back to box where she neighed constantly for new 'friend' and 2 hours later I left her neighing!
Just so you know I am not a complete amateur, have had horses for over 20 years, but never seen this particular one like this before. Just wondered how long it took for yours to settle in. I thought she was pretty settled in terms of eating, sleeping etc but just cant get her attention riding her, she is constantly calling for someone/thing, totally inattentive etc
When do you give up?! thats my question I guess! I am hoping she will sort herself out in a week or so??????
thanks in advance!!
