Please help!!!

I've got a new job, and will be re-locating to the above area with our 2 horses. We're coming down for an intensive look-see next weekend, so need places to look!

We're after as close to DIY livery as possible, but need some sort of schooling facilities, and hopefully some decent hacking. We do a bit of light eventing, so close to competition centres would be nice

Basically I'm looking for recommendations or local tackshops (phone no, locations - poscode?) that might advertise

PM me if you prefer - any suggestions / phone numbers welcome...

While we're at it, can anyone recommend a good dressage or eventing trainer in the area?

Obviously horses come first, so I'm looking for their home first and then going to look for somewhere closeby for us to live!

theres hitts barton which is whimple (not far from honiton) budleigh salterton riding school

have a google of livery yards in.. followed by your wanted area.

tack shop wise town and country supplies, which is broadclyst (not far from itts barton/)

Hi,

Welcome to Devon! I am not in that area but do know that Town and Country Supplies would be worth a visit. They are a very large tack and feed shop, so hopefully will have some adverts etc.

You will be nicely placed for unaffiliated and affiliated events from there. Easily accessible are Nutwell Court at Exmouth, Pontispool and Winkleigh. Pontispool has quite a few clinics and have a good website.

ah second thoughts.. nutwell court do livery, you may need to contact them via exe equestrain riding club, and also bicton college,. they do a part working livery, horse doesnt have to be used for riding, you can have it used just for stable managment lunging etc.

Thanks for those - I've googled for England! and I've found most of the big yards with nice websites, but I'm thinking there must be loads of small yards out there who don't advertise widely???

Hitts Barton does look/sound like eactly what they want, and they're already first on our hit list for next week.

me again... just had a thought, theres a place about 10 mins from axminter, couldnt tell you the name, but can proberley get a number if needed, nice yard, theres also a few other places around that area, raymonds hill area.. theres a mole vally (or mole avon) in axminster that could be worth a visit. as they have a notice board.

There is a large yard in feniton that may be worth looking into

I wouldn't bother going to Nutwell Court if you are looking for DIY - I know Nutwell isn't a budget yard if you know what I mean!

Thanks - I'm looking for DIY because I'm fussy and I like looking after my horses... not only the budget issue, although that helps!

Do you know what the Feniton yard is called?
