hello all and dear ******TFC please do not move this post ***** i am posting here as well as in dogs in hope of a larger audience :)

A friend of mine has recently become a foster mummy to a lovely staffie girl from the animal charity Animals In need ( Please facebook/google them ) well i will link you so you can read for yourself: http://www.facebook.com/BNFFund

I hope that link works, she has deformed front paws that put her in pain but with donations she will be able to have an operation to fix these :D

I promise this is NOT a scam !!! I know the lovely Lady Bobbie who has adopted Bella and if you wish to confirm it isn't a scam please contact ANIMALS IN NEED who rescued Bella :)

Any money helps at all, come on guys lets see what a nation of animal lovers can do. Even if you cannot donate PLEASE spread on facebook :) Bella deserves a second chance.

I feel sad that someone would adopt a dog with a known problem without the means to deal with that problem:(

eek i put adopt, she is taking her out of kennels as they would make her paws worse, foster mummy :)

*goes off to correct my posts :( **
OK. let me "correct" my post then. I feel sorry that someone would take on any animal, with a known problem, without the means to deal with that problem other than begging for funds.

It's an animal shelter of course they run of funds from others and donations :-)

Now it's beginning to sound like a scam! Your first post intimates that some rather barking individual has adopted a dog in constant pain and "needing" an operation from a rescue but can't afford to pay for her. Now you say that the dog has gone to an animal shelter - so is she just seen as the face of a tearjerking advertising campaign then?

This is totally leaving aside the moral and ethical issues of putting a dumb animal through the pain and distress of such an operation, which from the admittedly rather iffy photo looks to be unlikely to succeed in leaving the dog with anything like normal or indeed painfree paws.

Every dog deserves a second chance of a good home but there are thousands of staffies euthanased every year by charities because there are just so many of them. As much as I sympathise with your campaign, it doesn't sit well with me to put a dog through a painful operation when plenty of healthy staffs need homes. Horse owners (and particularly HHO) tend to be a hardened bunch, perhaps you might have more luck campaigning elsewhere. Sorry, as a dog lover that is all said with sympathy intended.

'Bella is a Staffordshire Bull-Terrier puppy, around 6 months old. She was born with severely deformed front paws which cause her constant pain and discomfort; this stops her enjoying life as a normal puppy.
Bella was badly treated and abused before she was rescued by Animals In Need, which has left her very frightened of people she doesn't know yet.

We need to raise over £4,000 for expensive veterinary treatment to operate on her two front paws to enable her to live a pain-free life, so she can run and play like a normal puppy should!'

if an animal is in constant pain and discomfort would it be a little more humane to put the poor dog to sleep? Or am I being overly harsh??!!

Put the poor little thing to sleep and use the money to rehome healthy dogs. She has no quality of life and it'll only get worse, putting her through such an op.

Again I am only the messenger who has been asked to put this on here, such views would be better expressed in a message to the facebook page ? :)

I never said she went into a shelter regarding this being a scam, she was taken from the pound by Animals In Need and then fostered by Bobbie who has her at the moment.

Perhaps posting on here wasn't such a good idea i have caused an up roar :P

Nope I don't think you are being harsh at all, in fact I share your views. Before I get jumped on I have 2 dogs and they are both from a rescue. If the poor dog in question has such a poor quality of life I feel the kindest thing would be pts and use the money elsewhere.

Again i would like to emphasise i am not involved in the care of this dog, i was asked to put this up, such views may be seen better on the facebook page if needs be :)
