Its been a long while since I had a good old rant about the terrorist, that's because she had transformed into the perfect dog.

It was short lived.:o

She turned 2 in march and has been a nightmare since then.

Bit of history - She was always left crated while I worked, with a wee break at lunch, she had some seperation issues but we worked though them and we coped fine.

When I became full time at work I started to take her into the kennels at work. She loves it there and doesnt even whinge when I leave her anymore:eek:.

On the odd evening / weekend day when she had to stay home (Kennels only available weekdays) she has progressed onto having the living room and her crate left open. She spent her time sleeping on the sofa (we filmed it) and she was always very calm when we / I got home.

Since the terrible twos creeped up on us she has started to destroy any random object that takes her fancy, despite having bones / kongs / toys. The only thing to have changed is the frequency of her being left alone.

I know she is not barking / howling when she is left because our neighbour complains if she as much as snores and they hear, so I feel like she is doing this to simply give me something to tidy up / have her very own party. She is a very vocal dog when unhappy:o

She is always walked before she is left and as I said she has yummy kongs etc, it is never longer than 4 hours.

Closing the crate door again is not an option because she broke out of it, she is also far more destructive locked in there for some reason? But when the door is left open she spends most of the day in there sleeping. She is odd.

Would it be wrong to cut her meals and only give them in the kongs when she is to be left? In the hope hunger wins over naughtyness?

She has continued her fab recall when out and about, we have even progressed to being off lead around my horses with no problems. Meeting new dogs is still an issue, she is not remotely agressive and well socialised she just thinks every new dog is the most exciting thing she has ever seen in her life:rolleyes:

Basically I have reached the point where I am starting to believe my tiny dog is plotting world domination.:o

Could you use a stairgate to curtail her/keep her in an area with nothing edible/no soft furnishings?

I have no issues with feeding from a Kong, I cannot remember the last time I fed the young dog out of a bowl :o

Thanks for the reply CC, today has just been one of those days :o

Stairgating wouldnt really work, its a new build house so all the rooms are very 'square' and small. I am considering the kitchen, there is alot less to chew in there.

We have been naughty and let her sleep upstairs with us too. I didnt even think of it earlier... I have obviously made a rod for my own back in regards to her seperation issues, I now feel mean for blaming the evil little creature for something that is my own fault :(

I know you give bones (forgive me if I am wrong!), which bones would you consider safe to leave with a small terrier with jaws of steel? I worry about her choking etc.
