Having a massive mind flump can you give a horse hay after sedaline . I can only remember you can’t with IV sedation but you can with ACTP tablets ? .

Thanks in advance!

It depends how much you've given
If it's a big one-off dose for eg clipping it would be different from a small dose eg to take the edge off for a box-resting horse
I'd say if the horse looks dopey don't give hay until he wakes up

This. If you can poke it and it falls over from drowsiness then don't feed it anything until it wakes up. If it is pretty awake but just has the edge taken off of it then it can have hay. I wouldn't feed hard feed.

For light sedation it's fine. My gelding recently had to spend a few days on box rest and needed something to take the edge off. Vet advised it was fine to have a haynet with light sedation but with a more heavily sedated horse it's best to let them come round a bit first.
