My new horse is perfect in every way, but he has one vice he likes to chew wood. It is not a massive problem, he is not windsucking, just likes to have a little nibble when tied up outside, and is having a go at the door of his neighbours stable. We have indoor partitioned stables so he cant do his door as metal framed.
Does anyone know of anything I can put on to discourage him that is not cribbox. As neighbouring owner hangs rugs over the door this would make them sticky. I know this is something that is hard to break, and my YO has been great saying that it is not a problem as they have spare boards that can be replaced if necessary, but I feel terrible that it is my horse doing this.
One thing occurred to me, I know he will chew regardless, would it help if I tied up a small tree branch or something in his stable for him to chew.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as none of my previous horses has done this.
