Trimmed Blue up yesterday, and got carried away with the scissors as i ALWAYS do hacked at his feathers and now they look weird.

Have never clipped them before so how do you do it?

I don't want to clip the rest of his legs but would just like feathers off so they look neater?

Whilst I adore long feather, I have trimmed up cobs for others.

What I do is take all the long hair back with sissors then with the clippers, I run down the leg in the direction of the hair, carefully blending in at the top. Use course blades so you don't clip too short and do it very slowly so you can avoid taking too much off at once.

Another way of doing legs is with a clippersharp comb - I have done this on a welsh pony and the result was very natural and no edge as you could gently blend in where the feather was removed. Again ran down the leg in the direction of the hair taking a little at a time. Then used some small trimmer clippers to finish the job.

He hasn't got hairy legs its just at the bottom by his heel that its feathery, how would you run clippers down that bit? Would be worried about possibly cutting into his heel?

Always clip downwards otherwise you'll end up going really close and sometimes if your not experienced they can get a bit patchy.
Clip from behind the knee and straight down

how much hair is there?
When i first started we had a big pack of bic razors to hand to blend in the fiddly bits... again go with the hair not against it.

Not much
