argh, my old girl Moley (13yr old JRT) got into the bin this morning, i caught her red-pawed IN THE BIN when i came in from the yard with all the other dogs (she didn't fancy going out in the snow!) she ate the whole carcass, argh.
so, anything i can do? she looks fine now, sleeping peacefully, but i'm worried because of all the stories about cooked bones being too sharp etc etc.
any advice really really gratefully received.
btw, i KNOW i'm an idiot for leaving the bin there, but she has NEVER done this before...

If I were you I'd get her to the vets. Henry did something similar in May, he ate some spare rib bones at my parents house that I didn't know were in the bin and had an op to remove them (and the other 2.5kg of rubbish he had stuffed down

) He bounced back from it quickly, although he is a young dog.

I wouldn't chance it, personally. A cooked bone splinters leaving sharp points that can easily pierce the gut wall. At the very least an x-ray is probably going to be needed to see how much bone is in there.

They are little sh*ts and do things like this when you least expect/need it - grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

I'm sure there will be others who can give you better advice than me but in the meantime don't talk to her and make her stay on the naughty step.

In terms of her health just keep your eye on her especially when she goes outside. Make sure there is plenty of water for her - the chances are she will be absolutley fine. Did she eat all of it or eas there some bits left?

Not sure what you should do regarding food - personally I wouldn't feed for 24 hours to let it pass through and to stop any food getting stopped in case of blockage/vet visit etc.

Hope she is ok though and it is just a scare.
