Hi there

I am going to be moving down to Faversham from oop north and wondered if anyone could recommend some livery yards in the Faversham/sittingbourne region of Kent.

I am looking for full or part livery somewhere friendly with a decent floodlit arena, individual or small group turnout, access to decent hacking & parking for a trailer.

Also does anyone know Francis Wilson from Classical liveries and how much she charges as I'll also be looking for an instructor - Any other recommendations gratefully received too!

Many thanks

Welcome to Kent:) I'm not sure about livery yards but I have heard that Suzanne Marshall is a very good instructor. I was going to use her before my horse got injured. I think she also runs a livery yard and is in Sittingbourne. If you google her it should bring up her website. Hope this is helpful, if I can find a website address I will post it if that's allowed.

Thanks, I'll check her out..and avoid the second lol

Horse house hunting is even worse than human house hunting so it is good to know we have chosen an area with some great yards, just wish they all had websites!

Hi and welcome ,
Suzanne is good and is based in upchurch between rainham and sittingbourne
I do believe she did have a space available but it's not cheap
Callum park in lower halstow have a livery place but don't know how much they cost
Also look on preloved they was a few places advertising on there

Suzanne is really lovely and her yard and facilities are amazing. Her website is http://www.fridayfield.co.uk/

Welcome to Kent :)

Thank you for the welcomes :D, very excited as it seems to be a pretty horsey area. The Faversham riding club looks pretty active too judging by their website, I am thinking of joining as it might be a good way to meet people.

Just had a look at the website for Friday Field, the facilities look amazing but unfortunately it's out of my price range.

Do you think my budget of £100 p/week of full livery is unachievable in this area? My horse wouldn't need grooming, exercising or feed providing unless I was away for some reason. Just a muck out in the morning, turning out/bringing in plus hay and bedding.

Suppose I'll have to get used to paying a bit more for everything in the sunny south - I have evidently been a bit spoilt up here! I'll have to have a look at preloved and see what I can find.

Try white leaf there prices are 104.00 for 7 days
Which is Bring in/put out
Change Rugs (where applicable)
1 Bale Shavings weekly
7 days of Hay
Mucking out

I've been to a couple of dressage clinics with one of the regular Faversham instructors, (Yvonne) who is excellent and the club sounds great from what I've heard. I might join this year too although I'm a bit further over into west kent/east sussex borders.

Thanks Ischa, that price sounds a bit more managable for me!

Suziq77 might see you at some events/clinics this year then if you join too! I am particularly interested doing some dressage so it's good to hear a recommendation.

^This. Suzanne is amazing and I think she was advertising a vaccancy not long ago. They're like gold dust on her yard though. It's fantastic, amazing facilities, good hacking and she's one of the best instructors I've ever had. We would never have left if we hadn't moved out of the area. It's definitely not cheap, but it is worth every penny. Her riding arena is to die for!

Try Saddlesdane just outside of Faversham, dont know what they charge though. Francis Wilson is very good, have not been taught by her but have watched her ride. Welcome to Kent, hope you have lots of fun

There's Brenley Farm which is just off J7 M2. only experiance was dropping in there once years ago but was impressed with the owner or yard manager - cant recall now. you can find them through google.

Yeah, I have massive arena envy for her place!!
I think she does have a space, and as you say, they are like gold dust there.
I guess you get what you pay for in life?
