Help, feeding a Shetland foal advice please

The foal belongs to a friend. It has just come off it's mum at 5 months old.She feels it needs more than grass and hay but is not sure what to feed. It is well grown.

You can get mare, foal and youngstock general vitamine and mineral supplements she could add to a little unmollassed chaff - a stud balancer will be too rich for a shetland foally. The supplement will ensure foally gets everything without too much protein/calories.
