Hello
I am planning to take my daughters lovely little Welsh Sec A to our first inhand show this weekend. He has done loads of local ridden showing with my daughter and been quite successful, but he is now 24 and my daughter is outgrowing him and will soon be having a bigger pony to do ridden stuff with, and we are obviously not going to sell on our lovely pony as at 24 and having done a brilliant job of teaching my daughter the ropes he deserves to stay with us where he is settled and happy. We thought some inhand stuff would be fun as he enjoys shows and is the type of pony that needs a job and hates being left behind, and also then my daughter can still do some competing with him as she is devastated she is outgrowing him!

I am going to show his this time to see how he goes as he can be cheeky to handle, i've not done any inhand showing for years! And i have a few questions if anyone can help?

He is a fully registered Welsh A so we plan to enter the M&M small breeds, Veteran and possibly best grass kept pony depending on how he is doing and if it is too hot for him. he is bright bay with 4 long white socks. Should i wear black trousers to distinguish my legs from his? or brown to tone in with the rest of him??

he wears a brown hunter type flat bridle for his ridden work with a happy mouth wilkie bit, i am reluctant to go out and buy an inhand bridle or halter until we know that we are going to get on with this inhand lark! can i show him in that? and with his reins or a leather lead rein?
I was planning on just wearing a white shirt and a tie, and smart black jod boots to run in! Its a very small local show, do you think that will be ok?

Sorry for the questions, if showing people can help me out that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance

If its just a local show your bridle will be fine with normal reins { many people around here show in normal bridles if you do have a snafell i would use that} if you have a pair of brown trousers these would be better, but black is fine.
Have fun.
