I have two horses with joint problems so their main source of exercise has to be hacking out. I've tried advertising on local FB groups and had quite a few people interested but most lack experience dealing with riding on a relatively busy road (for 10 mins each way). So they usually end up leaving with their nerves shredded (oops)! I've currently got two lovely young ladies helping me out but ideally I need another rider (because I did have a third rider but she had to stop coming out due to lack of time). Both horses have to be hacked out at the same time (separation anxiety and the fact I don't think its safe to hack alone!). Due to winter evenings it would be ideal for someone who can come out during the day / week.

Trouble is finding folk is like finding a needle in a haystack - does anyone know anyone in the South Lanarkshire area who is under 11 stone and is a good non novice rider who'd like the opportunity to hack out? You don't need to be young or super fit as these are very sedate hacks (horses can't go fast due to their joints) but as I said there is a stretch of road involved which on occasion requires nerves of steel and the ability to calm a stressed horse. At weekends I try to take the boys out to off road tracks which means a much more relaxed ride (no roadwork!) but I can't take them anywhere during the week.

I'd also like someone to help me take them out to the odd event - nothing major just riding club level fun stuff or potentially, if all goes well, endurance taster rides. I think it would be really good to get them out to different things and they seem to benefit from it.

Please PM me if you're interested or know of someone!

Hey, may I ask you something? Do you know where I can rent 2 horses for a 4-5 highland trail? No long distances, it’s about being out in nature. I copy my post so I don‘t have to write it again. If you know something.... would you tell me please?

I am looking for the opportunity to do an unguided horse trail in the scotland highlands for 4-5 days. I only know locations for it in Wales, Yorkshire, Ireland etc but I really would like to do it in scotland. I‘ve survived 11 surgeries in the last 4 years and a friend of mine raised the idea, if I will come over this, we do this trip. I have 2 own horses in Austria and I do eventing competitions. But it is way to far to travel with them to Scotland. So we are looking for horses in Scotland. We do not want to do long distances a day, but to be in this incredible nature with the horses. We would like to find an opportunity to get horses for these trip, have good people around planning it with us (Where to go, where to stay).

An Austrian Horse Magazine asked if we would share the experience, but I only would do this if it’s allowed by the horse owners. There is an idea of dedicating this trip to all of those who don‘t have faith to over come their disease, like I did and try to collect money for a charity project.

We both are very experienced riders, both horse owners and agricultural engineers with being in the fields. We are used to rough terrain, because we live in Austria.

If Someone has ideas....please tell me. I would be soooo happy and grateful.

Lovely wishes,

Vera
