I would like to take my horse to a local beach for a ride, never having done this before, do I need a permit?

Any hints or tips about getting the most out of a beach ride would also be appreciated.

Thanks

All beaches around the country are owned by someone, wether it be council or private landowner. It would be best for you to contact the council for the area you want to ride on & check with them

when I rang the council they said they didnt allow horses so I ask what the law was on it. They transfered me to someone else and they said I was not alloud to break in horses or race horses on the beach. I said I was just riding on it, walking trotting thats all. They were not keen but it seems you can ride on the beaches but some old law says you can not race or break in your horse . Sooo you may find the council unhelpful. If the national trust own the beach which some do down south, you can buy a pass to ride on the beach and surrounding area. The beach where I go is Poole and sandbanks...
