My horse has been out in grass since may and has never been lame before. I went to check on him last week, and was shocked to find him in his stable. the yard owner if very experience and explained he had been lame and his front leg was swollen he also had a small cut on the front of his leg. He was kept in for 3 night and then returned to the field once the swelling was gone, i noticed a hard plum sized lump on the back of the inured leg just above the fetlock joint, i assumed he had gave it a bash. Yesterday I arrived and realised he was lame, a new horse had arrived and they had been running around. The hard lump was still there and still the same size. the yard owner said if there was no improvement she would call the vet as she reconed he could of bruised his tendon. Now im really panicking! What does this mean???? Year off work? Always prone to injury now? Please give me some advice!!!

Try not to panic as it's all unknown at the moment. Get the Vet to look at him and go from there.

I hope that he's sound soon. :)

Get the vet, it could be any number of things, without actually seeing it we can only guess. But I wouldn't put any trust in your yard owner again. If she was that experienced she'd know that if a horse is lame, & you don't know why, & therefore how to treat it, you call a vet.
