Has anyone else had this happen ?
Horse recently diagnosed with cushings and ems and now on 1 prascend a day. She was clipped out in May (except for legs and head) with a covercote blade as she was very woolley and showing no sign of losing her coat and subsequently getting sweaty as it was very warm in May. Anyhow - fast forward to now and it seems she's moulting like mad but her white bits are now turning pink !!!
It seems her old coat is coming out but nothings replacing it. She's not particularly bald in the patches just pink - she's coloured and this can only been seen on the white bits but it's not over all of the white bits.
She's out in the day as wooden stables too hot to leave her in but now I'm worried about her burning in the sun so I've got her in a fly rug which in turn makes her a bit sweaty when it's really hot but it's better than getting sunburn.
Anyone else ever had this ? I'm hoping that the summer coat (even though its really late) will start growing at some point soon to protect the pink skin.
Is there anything else I could/should be doing to help.
She's still in light work and completely herself - it bothers me mainly not her - have visions of a pink barbi pony even though she's 16.1 lol
