My horsebox partition has got lots of tiny screws in it all over the surface and since my grey horse leans horribly on the partition (we're working on this but need a short term fix) the screws are pulling out all his fur and one was a little proud and managed to give him a nasty little nick on his side

Feel a bad for not checking it properly but definitely going to do something about it from now on.

I'm after that funny 2-3mm thin foam material, the kind of stuff they make yoga mats from, to stick over the partition side so that it's padded and the screws aren't anywhere near him. Does anyone know where I can buy it from? Preferably sticky-backed but suggestions welcome for how to stick it on otherwise.

Any other suggestions on how to pad the partition gratefully received!

Take it to a horse box company, they make special padding for partitions, it consists of thick sponge stuck onto a thin peice of ply then covered over with black vinyl then fixed to the middle bit of your partition with discreet bolts that dont stick out and rub your horse. I know of a horse box company very near you that would do that for you in a day, and make a real proffesional job, make it look like its always been there. PM me if you want more details.

I bought a sheet of plywood and some a sheet of foam and black vinyl fabric from Dunelm. I Glued the foam to the plywood and then covered the foam with the vinyl fabric, folding it over and attaching it tightly to the ply with a staple gun. I then attached the whole thing to the partition with screw using those plastic washers with caps attached. It looks very professional and I made 4 full length pads for under £40.
