Im thinking of taking coblet to his first hunter trials in july, so I thought if I can find someone who will go steady enough for us he wont run out and he'll be fine following his partner. Someone has now told me you around individually and your points add up, like a relay  If it is then I can't do it as he'll just napp.

Someone please explain :D

All the HT pairs I have ever done consist of you going round together, and they are often used as schooling classes, as you describe.

Could be that the one you are talking about does have a different format, but if so, search around and find a normal one - they are in the majority!

^^ just what P says above. I've never heard of one being run as you described! May be worth ringing the venue just to double check xx

Agree, usually done together. Ring the secretary & check, & if it is the case then find a normal one, or try to school there beforehand.

Thanks, can you go through what happens? I've never done one before!

On the schedule it doesnt say anything about how the pairs works, i just got told by a friend it works by a relay :S

normally you go round together just as a normal hunter trial with an optimum time and closest pair to that win. Sometimes they add in a "Bonus" fence where you both jump it together and are marked on timing and "style".

Give the sectretary a call to find out more, they won't mind, it's their job to answer questions and take entries!

as above you go round together usuallty have a timed section or optimum time fastest time/closest to optimum time and least penalties wins :) just wanted to say good luck!!
