I'm looking 4 a x-wide pony saddle 14/15 seat, for a fat 12.1 pony, we have just brought him and can't find a saddle for the little man. pls P.M me if you can help

Have you considered a treeless? I have just bought a Barefoot London dressage saddle for my cob and would really recommend one for those hard to fit natives. Best thing is that my chap is only 3, and the saddle will not be outgrown, plus I can also use it on my clydesdale who goes better than he ever has in this saddle.

Not too costly as I bought the package of saddle, dressage leathers and girth, plus the recommended pad which with postage was £560 - mine came from Horse and Harmoney. I went for the size 1 which fits a rider up to a size 14 and is the equivalent of a 16.5 - 17" saddle, but they may be able to help with a smaller version.

There are some s/h saddles here - http://www.dragonflysaddlery.co.uk/iteml...oryname=Saddles - one of which is a 15" wide. May be worth looking at? Or T4 PCA saddle which comes in 15" XXW - http://www.dragonflysaddlery.co.uk/addto...s&itemid=33

shire do one called the "bambino" which comes in x wide. it's sort if half treeless, synthetic, and costs about 54 pounds. It shapes itself to the pony's back. Worth a look at shires website as they're reasonably priced.

I had a maxam saddle which was x wide (15 inch) and fitted a table backed 11.1hh pony, excellent saddles, do what they say on the tin. They have the thrid girth strap positioned at an angle to help keep the saddle in place. You can get these on ebay or on the thorowgood web site, about 150 - 200 pounds.

native saddle company (i think that's the name) do lovely leather saddles, more pricey, but well worth it if it's competition riding he'll be doing. probably look at paying about 500 for one of their saddles.

Most places now do an x wide in a 15 inch, they're so popular now. It's just finding one to suit pocket and pony.

I have an extremly wide cob. I had a saddle made to measure. The saddler had to make it slightly narrower than she actually was as she said if she made it fit perfectly if would just spin round as she was so round!!!

The saddle i had was a Farrington working hunter. I have now just changed to a Barefoot Treeless which is lovely but does make her feel alot wider as it sits lower. Its a killer on the hips but im hoping i get used to it!!!
