As Above Really.... My son has a shetland pony and My daughter has a mini pony which she has now outgrown so I really need to save to get her an older pony to take her off leadrein (I have a baby too so will be keeping the mini pony for her) and I have been given a dutch warmblood mare so we really will have as many as we can afford.
However....
I ride in the evenings for my friend who sells a few.... she had an unbroken 3 year old haflinger (I'm not keen on haflingers).
However.....
I have been working on the ground with him every day (he was terrified of the mounting block and of me when I stood at the side of him), he is now almost bombproof, after getting on twice with owner holding him, I could get on by myself and have done rise and trot on his 3rd ride. Trouble is, he follows me every where, lights up when I get to the yard, is a soppy dope to me, lets me do anything to him, even hose pipe him over his face (I can now after 4 times of riding) jump from the mounting block to lie across his back with or without tack and just a headcollar on my own. He even starts door banging if ride another (his stable is next to the brush pen), I have never had this mazing bond with any horse I have ever ridden or owned!!
I know sensibly I cant afford another but he is like my little pet dog and I love him to bits, unfortunately for me he will soon be read to advertise
Uhhh... I hate being a sensible grown up with kids to think about!!!
