Help!! Im looking at a horsebox

Apart from the obvious, can any mechanically minded peeps tell me what to look for or test? Im hoping to take my old mechanic with me but its not on the doorstep so he may not want to come and he doesnt know yet!. When I sold my wagon, viewers pumped the clutch to an inch of its life and also the brakes, Id probably break it :eek:
 
Look at it by all means,but you must get a mechanic to check it properly if you like the box.Honest,its not a job for an amateur or even an enthusiastic DIY mechanic. Too many rogues out there.
 
Thanks, Im too cautious to just buy it, so theres no fear of that happening :D. Is there anyone you can reccomend, incase the mechanic I know cant or wont come, its in the Yorkshire area.
 
You could try the "Organisation of Horsebox and trailer owners". They can arrange inspections I understand.
