HELP !!!!! I'm SO worried !!!!

I'm so worried about me boy!!

Went to see him tonight to feed him his tea and he was fine. However, about 10 mins later, the left side of his mouth has swollen up. He won't even let me touch it so it's making me think it's a bite or something cos it's just on the one side.

But I did put a new calmer in his food tonight and now I'm thinking it might be that that's caused it as its the only thing different from any other night.

I had to come hom and leave him but it did seem to be going down a bit before I left and he is eating grass so what can I do? Do you think it's something to be worried about?
 
Maybe he has had an allergic reaction to something, if it was only there after you fed him then i would suspect that it is something in the feed.

But TBH i would think it was a vet job, no harm in making sure.
 
Yep, i would phone the vet and ask there advice, they will advice you and tell you whether they think they need to come out or whether you should see how it is in the morning. Sure it'll just be a sting or a reaction to a bite, goodluck, let us know how you get on x
 
Thanx peeps for all your advice. I'm new to this Forum so am quite touched that you all wrote back.

Just been up to stables and checked on him and his lip is still swollen so phoned vet. He phoned me back and I described everything and he said that as long as he's not distressed, which he isn't at all, in fact was sleeping when I arrived, then it's not an emergency.

I've to see how it is in the morning and then if it's still swollen then he'll come up then during normal practice hours. He reckons its not the calmer that I fed him cos then it wouldn't be swollen on just one side of his mouth. He thinks it is most likely a sting and said that he has had quite a few horses recently with
stings.

Poor boy looks like Mick Jagger from the left side at the mo!!
