I have just taken on a new yard and when I looked at the arena first time round I thought it would just need a bit of maintenance and watering to bring it back to life but this doesn't seem to be the case.
Transpires that the last tenant used to turn horses out in it and never levelled it much in the 5 years that she was there and now it's very deep in places, slippy and solid in others. It's a sand and rubber mix.
What to do? Martin Collins thinks a new surface, additives may not be very successful. Would it be upto me to pay for a new surface, go half and half with the landlord? What do you think?
