ok my mare has got to wear pads in her shoes after last attempts of resin type pads failed due to wet conditions. she has been turned out in overreach boots (normal rubber ones.) ahe has also been ridden in them. had shoes put on 1 1/2 wks ago. went on ride today think trod on shoe and lossened it on a muddy track as stumbled a bit but was still on. then had canter on not as muddy field and lost the shoe!! thankfully managed to recive shoe and farrier very kindly comming to put on tomorrow! but how to keep on now? was trying to get hold of those rubber band things that go aroung corronet and heels that act like over reach boots but cant find them anywere doesnt help have no idea wot they are called!!
any ideas on keeping these things on?
all suggestions appreciated!!

I have the same problem with my horse! Although he managed to go 6 whole weeks without pulling a shoe off this time, and that's a first! I put overreach boots on him and that seems to work, but he doesn't have hind shoes on anyway so that probably helps. With pads on too it must be a nightmare

thanks. not fetlock boot think called coronet boots often used on sj and r.horses. is under going remiedial shoeing for foot problem and is sound in nb shoes with pads. last time bk in normal shoes went lame! just changed farriers doing very gd job not his fault its sooo muddy and she really needs the pads at the mo!!! cant go barefoot coz of the problems she has!! gona try slightly larger over reachboots as they will cover bk of shoe better failing that will have to try without pads till spring!!!
