Hey, I'm hoping you lovely horsey lot can help. My girl came in yesterday lame on her left fore, slowly got worse over the afternoon. She was fine before turn out. Couldn't find nothing in her leg but her foot was smelly and hot.
Assumed an abcesess, she was hopping this morning, so called the vet.
By the time the vet came this afternoon, she was moving better. It was almost embarrassing for getting him out and saying she was hopping lame! He agreed it was in the hoof. No reaction to the hoof testers though. He thinks she's pulled something? In the hoof? Or a deep abcesess that will need an X-ray if we can rub/poultice it out. He wants me to box rest for a few more days and call him.
I'm panicking it's something more serious! Like a DDFT! Any ideas??
