Further to my post today about my sisters' horse and his ongoing lameness, can anyone shed any light on what Mechanical Lameness is, how it comes about and if it is curable? Thanks x x x
mechanical lameness usually describes a condition that makes the horse apear lame without causing him any pain. it could be due to musculature being uneven, or to something a simple as one leg being shorter than the other.
get an explanation from your vet, but don't be concerned about your horse's comfort.
As above really
My friends very old pony (in his 30ies) has a mechanical lameness from severe lami when he was younger. He isn't in pain, but because his bones have slipped he looks slightly lame.
