Went to check my horse and have found a large lump (about 6cm] accross on the inside of her back leg. Its quite soft and hot to the touch, and forms a perfect circle. It doesnt seem to bother her when you touch it and she is grazing away quite happily. Do you think it could be a reaction to a bite?
HELP

pics attached.. hope they work!

Looks like a reaction to a horse fly bite (or 'cleg' if you're Scottish), if it's soft and fluidy.
I'd wait a day or two and see what happens.
My girls all come up in squishy lumps when bitten by them, but they go quite quickly.
I assume there's no sign of trauma?

I thought it looked like a cleg bite but wanted to check just incase.
There is no sign of any trauma round about it and no heat around it. Doesnt seem to be bothering her at all. Bl***dy horrible beasties!

I bought some human after bite soother stuff (sorry, can't remember name) for my horse and it seemed to help her a bit.
I sympathise cos I come up in big lumps from cleg bites too..and there seem to be more of them down here in Glos (they go by the name of 'horseflies' though LOL to fool me!
