Long story short the past 3 wks or so my mare is coming into season every 6 days or so... She is 3 days coming in & then 3 days of being a hyped up and explosive. Its becoming a nightmare as the 3 days she is in season she is pretty much unrideable...
Ive a series of shows coming up & the bulk of them based on past few weeks she is due to be in season for most of them:( and we have a pretty high profile one in just over 2 wks time & I need to get something sorted.

Im popping up to the vet later today for a chat & hoping he can perscribe something.

Is there any alternatives to Regumate - any advice welcome. Wouldnt be experienced in this area at all...

Have you tried NAF Oestress? My mares seasons used to be as you describe all summer, she wasn't unrideable but a total floozy and constantly injuring herself as she would always be annoying the others or rubbing up against fences/tree's/walls/anything she could reach! And very spooky when ridden in season.
She is on Oestress all summer now, not at all over the winter and it has most definitely made a huge difference. She still comes into season but it is barely noticeable when she does, and they are far more spread apart. She has the odd couple of days where she has a bad season but I just up the dose in her daily feed.
It is also one of the cheaper alternatives so definitely worth a try to start with!

Good luck :)

I'm having similar problems, first time in three years I got ditched bucking broncho style! Ouch! Then took her out to a friends ménage and she refused to move forwards, did a very impressive reverse though!!
She is ready in oestress. Called vet out tomorrow to blood test her as its no out of character for her!

Was at vet today and oestress takes couple of wks to kick in and based on the total bi polar like behaviour my mare is showing 3 days out of every 6 he has put her on 20 MLS of regumate daily for next 3 wks as we have some big shows coming up and she would be dangerous to take out if nothing given. In 3 wks she will go for an ovarian scan so vet can have a good look at what's going on and is potentially looking at a silicone implant.
