So now that we can go places, we need some stuff when we get there! I want to know about your favouritest/most useful lorry accessories! My main caveat is that I don't want to accumulate too much weight, and I also don't like things that fall apart.

So:

Your favourite storage solutions (I have a large tack locker with nothing attached in it)?
Favourite corraling equipment (batteries, fence tape rolls...)?
Favourite camp stove?
Folding wheelbarrows/chairs/anything else cool and foldy?

Help me go shopping! :) :)

Anyone have any of these? What do you think?

I have a saddlemate and its fab! it stores loads of stuff in it hat, gloves sweets, sponges all my bits and bobs and sometimes the dog too!! The only tip id say is get some of that rubber sticky mesh stuff you get for dashboards (sorry dont know what its called!!) if you lay that over the top your saddle wont slide!!
 
that saddlemate looks brill!! love the folding wheelbarrow too.

One thing that my friend has in her trailer that's really handy is bungee clips at the front - means we can lead the horses in and just swap the clips over without worrying about tying the leadrope up or anything.

Might not work in your lorry but we find it pretty handy!

(i'm not convinced about pink either....)
 
The bungee travel clip things are a good idea - quick release and makes life much easier when loading / unloading.

Anything that save space - when we got our box I was convinced I'd have everything all nicely organised but it amazed me how much junk I accumulated (and then couldn't be without!!!) and how much I stored in the lorry the whole time.

The best thing we ever did was got our mechanic to get us a spare wheel (ours didn't come with one and I was terrified of needing one as apparently they are not carried as standard by breakdown ppl - no idea if this is true but was worth spending the £100 for peace of mind)

Also very glad of our breakdown cover that includes horse recovery as our (quite new) lorry had brake failure going down a nice big hill (thanks to my mum for not actually beliveing me when I said 'I've got no brakes'!! as I careered down the hill!) and they were fab when it came to getting the lorry and the horse home.

I wouldn't go with pink - I'd go with purple!!!!!!
 
Those clips sound very very useful! Any recommendations for a source?

Martlin, that kit looks great! I think I'll have to save pennies to buy that, rather than individual components, though. Will have a think!
 
Good wheelbrace and jack. Fluorescent jacket/tabbard for each passenger,torch. Hazard triangle.Jump leads ,spare can of diesel Notebook to keep record of fuel,oil mileage,faults.Hammer kept in cab to thump tyres to check inflation.(its the quickest easyest way to check double rear tyres,as they go flat the sound they make becomes duller). First aid kit for horse and human.Leisure battery on split charger, cool box, waterpump and hose for horsewash. basic toolkit.
 
For poos at shows, I have a medium sized tub trug type bucket, and a shovel, and use that. Much cheaper than foldy wheelbarrows - and once you have filled your foldy wheelbarrow at a show, then its not so helpful it being foldy (I know some places you can tip poos out on their muck heap, but not every place I go to you can do that...) The number of people who have come up to me at shows and asked to use my shovel!

I like to keep a few buckets handy - one for washing off as and when necessary (horse...), a plastic feed bucket for enticing horses on to a ramp (the plastic ones rattle whether or not there is any food inside!!), and another bucket for, ahem, personal requirements shall we say!

Other than that, its mainly safe places to ensure my flask of coffee is safe, alongside the cakes, biscuits etc etc... :)
 
I find the little tripod camping stools from Tesco are fab, they are only £3 each and take up little space. I've got a little folding table too as we like to sit around a lot at shows next to the box, drinking coffee and eating cake! Also handy to take to ringside to sit and watch. :)

Yes, need to get one of those muck shovel things. I did think at our first overnight away comp though, that a wheelbarrow would be handy, if only to carry water! But would it be sturdy enough?
