I have decided to go for a staple tweed jacket for my showing wardrobe. I figured it would be correct for showing & dressage and WH type classes.

I am looking on eBay for a bargain! can anyone recommend a nice fitting jacket for a tall slim lady size 10. Thinking of going for green tweed. I have a navy velvet hat and black leather boots.
Horse is colored LW cob and has black WH saddle and currently shopping for a bridle.
Shires huntingdon ones tend to come up small in the sleeves (too short) any experiences of the sherwood ones? they look nice?

Currently selling a cutaway tweed and a vintage hunt coat on ebay both too short in arms :( putting toward a decent tweed!! hoping to have around a £80 budget.
Thanks

If you can find a Green Pytchley Tweed jacket from Mears then go for it! My jacket has lasted 6 years so far and shows no signs of slowing down. The green goes with any of my ponies - from the greys to the blacks and every colour in between.

I'd rather have a good quality second hand than a cheapie new personally. If you go for a keepers tweed, it will be correct for everything. Foxley are superb for style, quality & fit

Mrs Candy (Foxley), Alexander James, Designer Browbands - all of them will be fine. But you may need to ensure they are off the peg ones - some are built for different shapes and may not be as good a fit as you are looking for.

Check out Horse Gossip for sale section - they always have 100s of quality show jackets for sale on there and it is free to become a member.

I'd keep an eye out for Alexander James. I had a similar prob to you with the Shires one, and had an Alexander James one made up (an off the peg size was just right). They come up large though. I am a size 10 - 12 and don't like the 'poured in' look, the AJ in an 8 is perfect.
Happy hunting!

I have a really nice Caldene Hacking/ Tweed jacket. I'm petite and small and I find the fit is perfect. Alot of other makes I find too large.
