I have been looking for a new breastplate for B for ages now. What I want is one like this...

But it must be in black (both the leather and the elastic) and preferably with silver coloured fittings rather than brass coloured. Does anyone know where I can get one like that online? I already have a martingale attachment so doesn't matter if it doesn't come with one (as long as it has a ring to whack mine on!)

Please help an obsessed online shopper spend more money

That's exactly the kind of breastplate I want but can't find !

Sorry I'm no help but thanks for posting this!

The only one I could find was the Kilcade but it comes up too small and the quality isn't great, although the price is.

Oooh I do like the DH one - and not a bad price too! I was thinking I'd end up spending £90 to get one I liked. I don't suppose anyone has a picture of one on a horse...

I had seen the Cotswold one but didn't like the rings all down the front, I would never use them so they seemed a bit superfluous. Shame as it looks lovely quality and the reviews are good.

I looked for ages for what you want and a Cotswold Sport one is definitely the best for the money. Fab quality and value. I never use the rings at the front but you can't see them and they actually look quite nice.

I've already got the Cotswold Sport one somewhere but it annoys me as it hasn't got the leather bit across the wither, which a lot of them don't have - the leather is lovely though.

The one in the picture above has the wither bit and doesn't just clip straight to the saddle.

Hi Blackcob, the picture you posted is the Crosby Event Breastplate, I have two of them in extra full for my two ID's and they are fab, quite pricey (about £110 I seem to remember), but the leather is gorgeous. If you go onto the Rideaway website, they have a few black ones in stock, otherwise just google it. Hope that helps, luv Jayne x

Emma123, the DH one looks lovely, and what a lovely photo!

BlueandHarrietsMum - thanks for putting a name to it. £110 is quite steep

but it is the most gorgeous looking one I've seen and what I was drawn to in the first place. I do prefer it over the CS one as I also like the bit over the withers (gives you something to grab on to

riaseed007 - Ooooh that's nice, and I love that you get the option to have clip or buckle fastenings. The piping is very smart and coincidentally in my horse's colours (black/white/red) so I am very very tempted.

Now to see how much I can bash my bank balance - would love to have the Crosby but might have to settle for the Treadstone or DH.
