I have been searching for a new jacket for a few weeks, but I can't find what I'm looking for. I need it for low level dressage and SJ. I would rather buy 1 decent one than 2 cheap ones. Can anyone suggest something please?

Black
No logos across the back or collar.
No badges /logo's on the sleeve/shoulder
No bling
No big silver zips on the pockets
Preferably slightly longer, not a bum-freezer
Machine washable
Under £300. Happy to look at quality 2nd hand if someone can suggest brands to look for.

In other words, just a smart, practical black jacket to wear in local SJ competions/BD/BE, without me paying the company to be a walking billboard.

I have the Aubrion mesh show jacket which I think meets your brief. I love it as can wear it all year round (vest top underneath in summer and thermals in winter), easy to wash and dry, flattering and looks smart. Honestly couldn't be happier with it 💁🏻‍♀️

Thank you :)
I've had it that long I can't find a size - it's 10 at least. There's a couple of spots where the fabric isn't quite perfect now - dry clean only and I got soaked and chucked it in the machine 🙈
I'd probably want £50 for it as it's not perfect and not really the current style (ie not a bum freezer) but it's a lovely lightweight wool jacket and still looks super smart
If you are happy to cover postage pm me and I'll send it for you to try, if you like it pop me some money across, if you don't just send it back

Almost a bit too bling for me, but a cheap alternative for my proper jacket that has to go to dry cleaner each time. It'll now be saved for championships.

Another vote for the Pikeur Epsom, if above jkt doesn't work out. I got mine, in black, size 10, years ago second hand about $50 AUD. [so about 25 pounds!] Apparently you can wash them, but I've only dry-cleaned mine. Lovely, simple cut, classic design, no bling, but for a little line of writing on the right pocket flap 'pikeur'.

I moved the buttons to make it closer fit. I dream of wearing it again, haven't since my dear schoolmaster retired at 23. But its smart enough to work as 'normal' wear.
